- Define a computer and list the basic functions it performs.
- Identify the main stages and significant technologies in the evolution of electronic computers.
- Identify the components of a computer.
- Describe the basic role of software, and distinguish between system and application software.
- List and describe classes or types of computers.
- Discuss the role of networks, including the Internet.
- Describe the World Wide Web and how it is used.
- Discuss the benefits and risks associated with the growing dependence our society has on computer technology.
